Community Connections Program
The Community Connections Program is a volunteer project that is able to provide older men with the opportunity to benefit from individual peer support, to enhance social networks and gain a sense of belonging in the community.
The program aims to identify and connect with isolated and lonely older men and establish peer support networks that positively promotes the role of older men supporting older men in the community.
Who Is Eligible To Receive This Services:
To be eligible for the Community Connections Program you must:
- Be an older man 50 years or over
- Live within 25km of Toowoomba
- Be experiencing loneliness or isolation
- Be experiencing circumstances that are difficult to cope with
- Experiencing loss of social networks and
- Have the capacity to benefit from individual peer support provided by trained volunteers
